Feb 26, 2024

Manila [Philippines], February 26: Three women, including a person with disability, died on Sunday night when a fire burned down their house in Rizal province, east of Metro Manila, a firefighter said Monday.
John Randolph Baldonado told reporters that the fire broke out before 9 p.m. local time on Sunday from the victims' house and two neighboring homes. He added that it took firefighters less than an hour to extinguish the flame.
A sister-in-law of the victims said two of the three women managed to run out of the burning house but ran back into the house in an attempt to save their disabled sister.
Initial investigation showed that the fire started in one of the houses, which was empty at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
