Cote d'Ivoire starts to revise electoral list for presidential election

Abidjan [West Africa], October 20: The revision of the electoral list in Cote d'Ivoire started on Saturday in preparation for next year's presidential election.
In Abidjan and other cities, teams of three agents are conducting the revision at enrollment centers.
To be eligible to vote, individuals must be an Ivorian, at least 18 years old, possess civil and political rights, and be registered on the electoral list, said Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibierti, president of the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI).
Cote d'Ivoire has 12,089 enrollment centers within the country and in embassies and consulates abroad.
The CEI forecasts that about 4.5 million new applicants will register by the end of the revision operation, which runs from Oct. 19 through Nov. 10.
