Harris received $81 million in contributions in 24 hours after Biden dropped out of the race

Jul 23, 2024

Washington D.C. [US], July 23: Vice President Harris ' campaign said in an email statement on July 22 that the amount raised was "the largest 24-hour fundraising in presidential campaign history," according to Fox News.
The campaign said more than 888,000 small donors contributed in 24 hours, with 60% of them making their first donation in the 2024 election cycle. 43,000 of those donors also signed up to make recurring donations.
Harris's team did not provide details on what percentage of the $81 million raised online came from small donations and how much came from the largest donors. The amount includes contributions from the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and joint fundraising committees.
"The historic endorsement of Vice President Harris is a true reflection of the energy and enthusiasm of the people to win this election," campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz said in a statement. "We are now seeing a broad and diverse coalition come together to support our important work of speaking to the voters who will decide this election."
Harris's one-day haul surpassed the nearly $53 million raised by former President Donald Trump's campaign and the Republican National Committee in the first 24 hours after Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts in a New York City criminal case.
