Latvia's parliament pledges support for Ukraine until victory

Riga [Latvia], February 23: Latvia's parliament has pledged to support Ukraine until it achieves victory in its war against Russia.
"We must do as much as possible, and even more," said President Edgars Rinkevics in a speech to members of parliament in Riga on Thursday. The Baltic nation is a member of the European Union and NATO.
He warned against war-weariness. "Let us live without illusions. Unfortunately, Russia's aggression against Ukraine could continue for years to come." Saturday marks the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The prime minister, Evika Silina also called for continued political, military and financial support for Ukraine during the special parliamentary session. She said that Latvia has already provided at least $703mn worth of aid since the start of the war.
In a video address, Ukrainian parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Latvian people for their "unwavering" support and help, and said "victory will be shared.
