Trump's side specifically outlined how to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sep 13, 2024

Washington [US], September 13: Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently outlined a potential approach to ending the long-running conflict between Russia and Ukraine if Donald Trump is elected president.
Speaking on "The Shawn Ryan Show" recently, Ohio Senator JD Vance revealed that former US President Donald Trump 's plan to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict could include establishing a "demilitarized zone" in Ukraine. The demilitarized zone would be heavily fortified to prevent Russia from re-attacking.
Mr Vance did not specify which country or organisation would control the demilitarised zone, but he said the "current demarcation lines" would remain in place - meaning Ukraine would lose the territories currently controlled by Russia.
Senator Vance said that to achieve peace , independence and sovereignty, Ukraine must ensure neutrality, which means Kyiv will not join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO ) or similar allied institutions.
Mr. Vance also criticized that: "The administration of US President Joe Biden has thrown money out the window in the hope of achieving a military victory for Ukraine, even when the Ukrainians think they cannot do it. Therefore, Donald Trump's policy must be strong, but also smart. That is negotiation."
According to Mr. Vance, the reconstruction of Ukraine will have to be funded mainly by Germany and European Union (EU) countries.
According to The Washington Post on September 12, the comment from Mr. Trump's deputy is the clearest and latest plan for war proposed by the US Republican Party to date. This approach would mark a significant change from the Biden administration's policy of focusing on coordinating with allies to provide military support and other aid to help Ukraine deal with Russia.
Previously, former President Trump repeatedly stated that if elected, he would end the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours.
Trump announces new tax plan
At a rally in Tucson, Arizona (USA) on September 12, former President Trump announced that he would end all taxes on overtime pay if he wins the US general election on November 5.
"As part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime. Your overtime will be tax-free," Trump stressed.
According to Reuters, this is an effort by the former president to attract voters and compete with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris. Both Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris are targeting ordinary voters and workers with many commitments to tax exemptions and reductions.
Responding to the above information, a spokesman for Vice President Kamala Harris 's campaign said on September 12: "He is desperate, trying his best and saying everything to trick people into voting for him."
