Kyiv [Ukraine], August 30: The General Staff of the Ukrainian army confirmed on August 29 that its forces attacked an oil depot in Rostov province and for the first time attacked an oil depot in Kirov province in Russia, about 1,200 km from the Ukrainian border.
The attacks were carried out on August 28 and were confirmed by previous intelligence sources. According to the Ukrainian military , military intelligence and special forces attacked the Atlas oil depot in Rostov, causing damage and setting oil tanks on fire.

Kirov Governor Alexander Sokolov said Russian air defenses shot down two UAVs , while three others crashed and caused a fire at the Zenit oil depot.
CNN believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is using all resources to attack Kursk as well as oil depots and facilities deep inside Russia, crossing all the Kremlin's red lines and willing to accept disadvantages in the town of Pokrovsk in the eastern Donetsk province.
Speaking on the evening of August 28, Mr. Zelensky admitted that the situation in Pokrovsk and other areas in Donetsk was "extremely difficult" because Russia's main efforts and largest forces were concentrated there, according to AFP . In an updated report on the evening of August 28, the Ukrainian army said that fierce fighting continued in many villages near Pokrovsk, where "the situation is hottest".
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW - USA) commented that Russia's best soldiers are helping maintain the momentum towards Pokrovsk.
