Nov 04, 2024

New York [US], November 4: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said he is "very concerned" about reports of troops from North Korea being sent to Russia, including their possible deployment to the conflict zone.
Stephane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General, said in a statement on Sunday, "This would represent a very dangerous escalation of the war in Ukraine."
"Everything must be done to avoid any internationalisation of this conflict," the statement added.
The Secretary-General reiterated his support for all meaningful efforts towards a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in Ukraine, in line with the UN Charter, international law and resolutions of the General Assembly.
