Yemen's Houthis say they targeted Israel despite Lebanon ceasefire

Dec 04, 2024

Sanaa [Yemen], December 4: Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels said they have targeted Israel with drones three times in the past 48 hours in cooperation with their allies in Iraq.
In a statement, the Houthis said two operations targeted northern Israel and the third targeted the southern city of Eilat.
Last week, the Houthis said they would continue their attacks on Israel in support of Palestinians in Gaza, despite a ceasefire deal between Israel and the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war last year, the Houthis have fired rockets and drones at targets in Israel and attacked ships in the Red Sea. A coalition of pro-Iranian groups in Iraq, known as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, have also targeted Israel. On Monday, the Israeli military said a drone flying in from the east was shot down before it could enter Israeli airspace and that an Israeli warship in the Red Sea destroyed the unmanned aerial vehicle with a missile.
