J&K: Jasmeet Kour becomes first woman lieutenant in Indian Army from Rajouri

Rajouri (J&K), May 17 (ANI): Jasmeet Kour became first woman Lieutenant in Indian Army from Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri. She hails from a small remote village called Dalogra in Rajouri District. She cleared MNS 2024 exam and will join Indian Army Medical Corps as Lieutenant. Jasmeet Kour’s father Ravinder Singh is a poor man who runs a flour mill in village to support his family. She completed her schooling from Rajouri and pursued BSE nursing from Amritsar and now she will embark on a journey of becoming an Indian Army Officer.
Speaking to ANI, Jasmeet’s mother said, “She always wanted to join Army. His father has really worked hard and supported her a lot. He didn’t let the children face any problem. I want to give a message to every parents that please let your daughters study and support them; make a way for them. If daughter shines in life, then there is no better happiness than that.”
Speaking to ANI, her father said, “I am feeling very happy. She wanted to join army since childhood. Parents need to support their daughters to study.”
Speaking to ANI, Jasmeet said, “I believe that one has too trust himself I order to become something. Without my parent’s support I would haven’t been able to do anything.”
